difficulty scale- easier things to draw begin on the difficulty scale such as plants and rocks then it progresses to insects then mammals continuing to pets, people, and people in motion. this is since people are more often observed so we are able to critique them more.
this is in the middle of the difficulty scale since penguins are not something people see often, however they are not that small so you are able to see the detail.
I used shape theory to sketch the basic dimensions, by tracing some shapes over my reference image to understand what I’m trying to draw. So nothing was massively disproportionate, and so it wasn’t as daunting to draw. I used mainly a watercolour brush over the top of my sketch to colour it and used the eye dropper tool to get the exact colours. I should have separated my sketch and the colouring with layers.

ebi-since I went for a more realistic approach, blending the colours with different tools would help my drawing look more real, also adding layers so its easier to fix mistakes.
